My own personal presences aside, I think this was a great romance that deals with the celebrity trope and I enjoyed watching Jo and Everette trust and fall for each other.Ĥ.5 Stars. While I loved the beginning, I did get annoyed in the later half when the exes. I will say, though, that I don't like the jealous ex trope in my romances and this book had TWO of those who took a majority of the conflict for the second half of the book. I really enjoyed how Jo slowly broke down and let Everette into her life and how important both of their children were to them and the choices they made. I loved how it was a celebrity romance and Everette tried so hard to prove to Jo that he wasn't a womanizer and took his relationships seriously. In the beginning, I really enjoyed this book. Everette is completely stricken with Jo, though, and is determined to have her in his life. She meets Everett, a big rap star, and is immediately put off by his womanizing ways. Jo Walker is a single mom who got divorced because her husband cheated on her. I really loved the bodyguard novella later on in this series, so I knew that I had to go back and read the beginning of this series.
